Estate planning is more than what happens to your assets after you die. It’s also ensuring the necessary tools and instructions are in place for your care throughout your lifetime. Therefore, our services are designed to provide you, and your loved ones, with peace of mind through life’s most difficult transitions.

You Are Not Alone

We understand that organizing your estate information and documenting your wishes can often be an overwhelming task. Estate Savvy will never leave you with a generic task list to complete on your own. We will be there, in person, to assist and guide you throughout the process, as much as you may need.

This means that, in addition to our in-home documentation services, if you’re uncomfortable meeting on your own with your attorney, financial planner, accountant, etc., we’ll be happy to attend the meeting with you to ensure all your questions are fully answered. We will also take thorough notes throughout the meeting. You can then review the details at your convenience to make sure none of your wishes have been overlooked.

How It Works

  1. We start with a complimentary in-home consultation to discuss your goals and any questions you may have.
  2. We will set a mutually agreeable time to help you sort your personal papers. Together, we will determine what is current, what has expired, what documents need to be kept, and what can be discarded/destroyed.
  3. We conduct a detailed and comprehensive estate audit.
  4. Create and customize your Savvy Life Book.

An estate audit is simply a detailed review of your current estate plan to ensure that your documents reflect your current wishes.  During our estate audit we’ll help you:

  • Verify that you have the necessary estate planning documents, that they’re up to date, and executed in accordance with Florida law
  • Go over the provisions set forth in your documents to ensure they’re still your current wishes
  • Update the names and contact information for your beneficiaries, personal representative(s) and/or trustee(s), as listed in your documents
  • Refer you back to your attorney or recommend another if your documents are out of date or no longer reflect your wishes. (Since we are not attorneys, we cannot prepare new documents for you)
  • Confirm that your assets are titled in accordance with the instructions provided by your attorney and/or financial planner. If we find title issues, we will obtain, and help you complete, the necessary forms from your banks, insurance companies, etc., to ensure your assets are titled correctly going forward
  • Verify that your heirs or caregivers have a way to access your important documents and information so they can be accessed if you’re unable to in an emergency

The Savvy Life Book is a customized volume of all the information you, or your caregivers, may need to manage your affairs both during your lifetime, and after your death.  It serves as a priceless guide as to your wishes regarding medical treatment and end-of-life care.  It also puts in order the legacy you wish to leave behind.

Your Savvy Life Book is completely personalized for you, and it will document everything including:

  • Your vital information, such as date of birth, social security number, military service, etc.
  • Detailed contact information on your family, all persons named in your estate planning documents, as well as your professional and spiritual advisers
  • A list of all your important documents – birth certificates, marriage license, insurance policies, etc. – and where they are located
  • A detailed list of all your assets, including website usernames and passwords if accounts are online
  • A detailed list of all your creditors – loans, mortgages, medical & credit card bills – including website usernames and passwords if accounts are online
  • A printed, customized collection of pages including information on everything from your memberships and subscriptions, to your social media and gaming accounts
  • Your important medical information and documents so your family is informed in the event of an emergency
  • Your detailed instructions on the daily management of your home
